Chorizo and Potato Torta (Sandwich) Recipe

This sandwich is inspired by the classic Mexican sandwich. It's hearty, delicious, and awesome.

Ingredients

  • Couple loaves of sandwich rolls.
  • Mexican style Chorizo
  • Couple of Potatoes
  • Can of refried beans
  • Crema
  • Cabbage, sliced into small pieces
  • Guacamole
  • Salsa

Preparation

Cooking

  1. Microwave the potatoes until they are partially cooked, then slice them up.
  2. Cook up some chorizo in a pan until browned with a little oil, then reserve half the oil.
  3. Cook the potatoes in the chorizo oil until lightly browned.
  4. Heat up the refried beans and mix in the chorizo with some of the oil to flavor it up.

Assembling

  1. Cut the bread open and rip out some of the interior bread.
  2. Spread the refried bean / chorizo mixture in the bottom of the bread.
  3. Layer with potatoes, cabbage, salsa, guacamole. Spread the crema in the top layer of the sandwich.
  4. Eat.
